JEN Translations and my work translating Japanese to English has been very quiet this last month. So I wanted to provide an explanation for why.
I recently moved from the UK to the US to be with my husband. For various reasons it was a bit of a sudden move that I didn’t realize I was making. For visa purposes I stopped working for a little while and instead focuses myself on improving my Japanese.
I studied for 3 months to not only improve my Japanese and translation but to pass the highest level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test – JLPT N1.
The week before the exam my approval to work in the USA arrived. I took the exam and am currently taking freelance work again while looking for a possible permanent position in Seattle.
It had been my intended to continue writing articles but studying and various things got in the way.
I look forward to taking on lots of exciting new translation challenges!
